Joel T. Marker (born La Crosse, Wisconsin) joined McKay, Burton & Thurman in 1984 and is one of the firm's shareholders.  Joel is a seasoned bankruptcy attorney who has received the highest attorney rating from his peers.  In 1995, Joel served as Chair of the Utah State Bar's Bankruptcy Section, and, since his appointment in 1997, Joel has served on the Panel of Chapter 7 Trustees for the District of Utah.  In addition to serving as a Chapter 7 Trustee, Joel continues to represent both creditors and debtors and has also been appointed as the trustee in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcies.
